Mission:

To eliminate poor vision and its lifelong consequences

Goals:

Ø  To provide screenings, eye exams, and other vision resources to children who cannot afford them otherwise.

Ø  To educate parents, teachers, and the general public about good vision and the critical role it plays in literacy, education, society, community safety, and the economy. 

Ø  To be the industry leader and create partnerships to increase access to good vision care within the U.S.

Ø  To raise funds to support and expand Essilor Vision Foundation's charitable works.

Kids Vision Fest

Free festival to offer free eye exams and glasses to children 5 to 12 who qualify, plus free vision screenings, educational activities, entertainment, games, giveaways and more.

In an effort to eliminate poor vision and its lifelong consequences, The Alcon Foundation, Essilor Vision Foundation and the Kids Vision for Life Coalition will host Kids Vision Fest on Friday, February 3, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., at Tarrant County College Trinity River Campus located at 300 Trinity Campus Circle (formerly 300 RadioShack Circle) in Fort Worth.

Free and open to the public, the event will offer free vision screenings to all children.  However, free eye exams and glasses will be provided ONLY to children ages 5 – 12 who qualify based on the 2011 Federal Poverty Guidelines. 

Kids will have the opportunity to participate in educational vision-related activities, games, comedy acts, giveaways and more.

IMPORTANT:  Students who bring vision referrals from school nurses will be given priority on a first-come, first-served basis.  Organizations bringing groups of children are strongly encouraged to schedule appointments. 

Also, organizations that book in advance will be scheduled beginning at 9 a.m.  before the doors open to the public.
